东南亚低纬度高地对孟加拉湾西南季风的热效应

近日,云南大学曹杰团队研究了东南亚低纬度高地对孟加拉湾西南季风的热效应。这一研究成果于2025年11月12日发表在《中国科学:地球科学》杂志上。

研究组采用数值实验研究了东南亚低纬度高原(SEALLH)对孟加拉湾西南季风(BOBSWM)的热效应。模拟结果表明,SEALLH的总绝热加热、个别潜热加热和个别感热加热分别约占区域平均BOBSWM强度的21%、20%和4%。潜热比感热对BOBSWM强度的调节作用更重要。

在不同的非绝热加热类型中,连接SEALLH和BOBSWM的非绝热加热的物理过程保持一致。当SEALLH上的非绝热加热关闭时,对流层下层出现负温度异常,BOB上方的核心相对温暖,而BOB周围的陆地边缘区域相对寒冷。对流层下层的这种异常温度梯度通过改变陆地和海洋之间的异常热对比而在BOB上空引起异常气旋。因此,西南风增强导致BOBSWM更强。

Title: Thermal effect of the Southeast Asian low-latitude highlands on the Bay of Bengal southwest monsoon

Abstract: In this study, four numerical experiments were conducted to investigate the thermal effects of the Southeast Asian low-latitude highlands (SEALLH) on the Bay of Bengal southwest monsoon (BOBSWM). Simulation results showed that the SEALLH’s total diabatic heating, individual latent heating, and individual sensible heating account for approximately 21%, 20%, and 4% of the total regional mean BOBSWM intensity, respectively. The latent heating rather than the sensible heating over the SEALLH plays a more crucial role in modulating the BOBSWM intensity. The physical processes connecting the diabatic heating over the SEALLH with the BOBSWM remain consistent across different diabatic heating types. When the diabatic heating is turned off over the SEALLH, the negative temperature anomalies in the lower troposphere occur with a relatively warmer core over the BOB and a relatively colder region in the terrestrial margins around the BOB. Such an anomalous temperature gradient in the lower troposphere induces an anomalous cyclone over the BOB by arousing an anomalous thermal contrast between the land and sea. Consequently, the enhanced southwesterly winds lead to a stronger BOBSWM.
