镧系钛纳米团簇偏振传播的晶上光谱调制器

近日,吉林大学白雪团队研究了镧系钛纳米团簇偏振传播的晶上光谱调制器。该项研究成果发表在2025年10月29日出版的《美国化学会志》上。

在三价镧系元素中,光学偏振的方向与强度取决于各跃迁偶极矩的空间排布,这使得实现偏振传播极具挑战——因为该特性高度依赖于原子精度层面的堆垛对称性与组成配位。

研究组成功制备出有机单层保护的钛掺杂镧系纳米簇晶体,其中Eu3+离子的跃迁偶极矩通过5D07F12能级跃迁产生典型的正交偏振行为。值得注意的是,Eu8Ti10单晶展现出相对于晶格轴向具有显著各向异性的偏振传播特性,从而可直接在晶体层面实现光谱调制。

Title: On-Crystal Spectral Modulator from Polarized Propagation of Lanthanide-Titanium Nanoclusters

Abstract: The orientation and magnitude of optical polarization in trivalent lanthanides (Ln3+) depend on the directional arrangement of individual transition dipole moments (TDMs), rendering great difficulty in achieving polarized propagation that is highly determined by the packing symmetry and the compositional coordination in atomic precision. Here, we obtained crystals of the organic-monolayer protected titanium-alloyed lanthanide nanoclusters (i.e., Eu8Ti10 NCs), where the TDMs of Eu3+ ions generate typically orthogonal polarization behaviors (i.e., π/σ-light) from the 5D0 → 7F1,2 transition. Importantly, the Eu8Ti10 single crystal exhibits polarized propagation with significant anisotropy relative to the crystallographic axis, which enables spectral modulation directly on the crystal.
