Two Journals of CLoS, Chinese Science Bulletin and Science China Life Sciences to be published as OA journals
Starting in 2011, Chinese Science Bulletin and Science China Life Sciences, co-published by Science China Press (SCP) and Springer, will be transformed into Open Access journals. Both journals are part of Springer’s Chinese Library of Science (CLoS), a collection comprising more than 90 journals, with their content available online in a full-text database at www.springerlink.com.
Ever since Chinese Science Bulletin and Science China Life Sciences formally started publication, through internationalized management and organization, both journals have respectively organized the editorial boards made up of famous experts and scholars from related fields and have guaranteed high academic standards of the articles as well as the effective, manuscript review processes.
Yongchao Shi, Chief Editor at SCP, said, “We have considered how to best distribute high quality research papers to the widest audience globally. With this challenge in mind, we have converted Chinese Science Bulletin and Science China Life Sciences to OA journals from 2011.”

Science China Press is a scientific journal publishing company under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). SCP publishes 17 titles of academic journals of which 9 in English. These journals are sponsored both by CAS and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Among those journals, Science China Series (8 journals) and Chinese Science Bulletin are included in CLoS.
